Lake Eland Game Reserve is a 35 minute drive inland from Port Shepstone.
From Durban (+/-123 Km) take the N2 south-bound towards Port Shepstone. At the Oribi Plaza off-ramp follow the N2 inland (turning right over the bridge across the freeway) and travel towards Kokstad/Harding on the N2. After 11km (at the top of a long climb) look out for a sign on the left indicating “ORIBI FLATS EAST”; “Southern Explorer T3” and well as “Lake Eland” and turn right. This is the D219. Travel for 26km on this road, passing the NPC cement factory and Igwala Quarry, and other establishments such as Leopards Rock. Do not turn off anywhere. The last 4km are on gravel / dirt road – to the Lake Eland Game Reserve Entrance. FOLLOW the “Eland” on the side of the road.
