Shelly Beach annual Tuna Bonanza Fishing Competition
The Shelly Beach Ski Boat Festival is a annual event since the inaugural Ski-Boat “Bonanza” held in 2001. The event coincide with the winter June/July school holidays and also the annual Sardine Run and is one of the country’s premier winter gamefish competitions in terms of total prize value. It has evolved to one of the major holiday events on the South Coast. The past few years have seen battles between a yellowfin tuna, king mackerel or amberjack for heaviest common targeted species. Launching from all recognised launch sites between Warner Doone & Port Edward
