Bushveld, Grasslands, Wetlands and Coastal Forest are the four distinct
ecosystems that provide visitors with the unique opportunity of viewing animals
as diverse as giraffe and blue duiker, herds of plain game such as zebra,
wildebeest, eland, shy mountain reedbuck, and the elusive bushbuck in close
proximity.
Entering the majestic Oribi Gorge through the towering cliffs of Hells Gate,
birders are likely to see Narina Trogan, Starred Robin, Knysna Wood Peckers and
Crowned Eagle to name but a few of the over 200 species identified to date.
While on the grasslands sightings of Ground Hornbill, Secretary Bird and Martial
Eagle are common occurrences.

Accommodation:
Enjoy the cosy feel of our fully equipped and serviced, self-catering Log
Cabins. Each cabin has its own secluded braai facility and verandah overlooking
the dam.
We also have a camping and caravan site with electricity provided, ablution with
hot showers and wash-up facilities.

Lake Eland Game Reserve offers you a private venue in either the Oribi Hall or Kudu Conference Centre.
-
Oribi hall has an unusual look as the ceilings, walls, windows and door frames are made out of wood, this gives the hall a natural feel. It must be seen to be appreciated.
There is a deck that overlooks a dam-ideal for memorable group photographs.
Lake Eland Game Reserve is equipped to cater for 250 guests. The
hall is versatile and can easily be modified for functions as
small as 100 guests or larger than 250 guests.

Kudu Conference Centre offers you the opportunity of being one with nature as it opens out onto a large deck which overlooks the reserve. If you prefer the more rustic look, there is a Bush Boma that can be utilized.
The Kudu Conference Centre is ideal for smaller functions as this cosy room can seat up to 50 guests.

Chapel:
And old stone barn has been converted into a bush chapel which can be used for your ceremony.
This can seat up to 150 guests.

Directions:
Lake Eland Game Reserve is a 45 minute drive from Port Shepstone.
From Durban (+/-123 Km) take the N2 South bound to Port Shepstone. Take the Oribi Plaza off ramp (DO NOT TAKE THE UMTENTWENI OFF RAMP). Turn right on the N2 Harding / Kokstad Road. Drive through 5 sets of robots. At the Oribi Flats East (B) turn right, go past the Cement Factory, and follow the signs to Lake Eland Game Reserve.
